Kummara ("we", "us", or "our") operates the leaderboard web application and associated website (collectively, the "Service"). We are based in Bandung, Indonesia, and are committed to protecting your privacy while providing a free tool to support game-based learning and gamification in education.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the Service. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate the Service:

a. Information You Voluntarily Provide

  • Registration Email: If you choose to register or sign up for the Service (e.g., to submit scores, manage entries, or receive updates), we collect your email address. This is used to verify your account, enable features, and send relevant information about the Service (such as updates, new features, educational resources, or relevant program related to game-based learning and gamification).
  • Leaderboard Data: When you submit scores or entries to the leaderboard, you may provide identifiers such as nicknames, team names, player names, or similar information. This data is submitted voluntarily and is intended for public display on the leaderboard.
  • We do not require or collect sensitive personal information (e.g., national ID numbers, phone numbers, home addresses, or financial data) unless you voluntarily include it (which we strongly advise against).

b. Automatically Collected Information

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies: The Service uses only "strictly necessary" cookies. These are small text files essential for basic functionality, such as maintaining your session, ensuring security, or remembering your preferences during your visit.
  • Analytics Cookies: We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies to help us analyze how users use the Service. This includes information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring/exit pages.
  • We do not use other third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

c. Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect personal data for marketing, profiling, or commercial purposes beyond basic traffic analysis and relevant Service updates.
  • We do not track your activity across other websites (except through standard Google Analytics features).
2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to:

  • Operate and display the public leaderboard.
  • Manage user accounts and enable registered features.
  • Send relevant communications to registered users (e.g., Service updates, new leaderboard features, or educational resources aligned with Kummara's mission in game-based learning).
  • Ensure the technical functioning and security of the Service.
  • Analyze traffic and usage patterns to improve the Service (via Google Analytics).

The information generated by Google Analytics cookies about your use of the Service (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the Service, compiling reports on activity for us, and providing other services relating to activity and internet usage.

We do not:

  • Sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for their own purposes (beyond Google's processing for analytics).
  • Use your email for unrelated marketing or spam.
  • Use your data for personalized advertising.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

You can unsubscribe from email communications at any time by following the unsubscribe link in any email we send or by contacting us.

Any information you submit to the leaderboard (e.g., nicknames, team names, scores) is publicly visible to all visitors of the Service. This data may be viewed, copied, or shared by anyone.

Important: Do not enter real names, contact details, or any sensitive or private information in leaderboard fields. You are solely responsible for the content you submit.

4. Data Storage and Security
  • Data is stored on secure servers (including Vercel hosting and Google servers for analytics).
  • We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss.
  • However, no online service can guarantee 100% security. You use the Service at your own risk.

  • Leaderboard entries are retained as long as needed to provide the Service and fulfill its educational purpose.
  • Registered email addresses are kept as long as your account is active or until you request deletion.
  • Analytics data is retained according to Google's policies.
  • We may delete or anonymize data at our discretion, especially if the Service is discontinued.
6. Your Rights

Under applicable laws, including Indonesian regulations, you may have rights regarding your personal data. You can:

  • Request access to, correction, or deletion of your data (including leaderboard entries or email address, where feasible).
  • Opt out of Google Analytics as described above.

The Service is intended for general educational use, including by teachers and students. If children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction) use the Service, we recommend that they do so under adult supervision and avoid submitting any personal information.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without appropriate consent.

8. International Users

The Service is hosted on Vercel (which may use global infrastructure) and uses Google Analytics (data processed in the US and elsewhere). By using the Service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your submitted data in accordance with this Policy.
